Maria Netherland's picture

Hi ladies and welcome to GOTRIbal. If you're interested in meeting up for any swim/bike/run, just post here and if anyone can join you, they'll respond.

My name is Maria, I'm the Colorado GOTRIbal chief. Please make sure you have signed up for the newsletter - Tanya does an awesome job keeping everyone informed.

Julie Thompson's picture

Huge thanks to GOTribal for hosting the dinner with Chrissie Wellington for tonight! I'm giddy with excitement!

On another note- anyone out there doing the Irongirl on Saturday? I may be there by myself, I don't think the hubs wants to drag the kids out to the reservoir for another tri!

Laura Lenis's picture

Hello everyone. New to the group. how does it work? does anyone meet to train around the downtown area? :)

Adriana Giorgetti's picture

I am new to the group too... would love to understand how the group works :)

Michelle Ragland's picture

Congratulations to Wendy Mader, who placed 5th at Lake Placid Ironman this past weekend! WooHoo Wendy, way to go!

Julie Thompson's picture

That's incredible! Nice work!

Denise Jonke's picture

Wow Wendy!  5th place Ironman - that's just awesome!  You go Girl!

Anyone doing the Tri for the Cure next weekend?  If so, how do I find you in transition to say hello?

Would love to meet up with fellow triathletes in the Parker area.

Maria Netherland's picture

Any ladies heading to the Denver Tri this weekend? Or the Boulder 70.3 in a couple of weeks??

Julie Thompson's picture

I'll be at the 70.3! Survival is the goal for that one!  :) Have you ever done that distance before? This one will be my first.

Maria Netherland's picture

Hi Julie. I've raced the Kansas 70.3 twice. I started the Boulder 70.3 last year (DNF - long story). I'm racing the Boulder 70.3 this year. The bike course in Boulder is pretty darn flat for being so close to mountains. Keep sunscreen nearby for T2, the run is very open and exposed.  I'm sure you'll do just fine!

Maria

Julie Thompson's picture

Nice job getting those two under your belt- and that stinks about your Boulder DNF- you'll get it done this year! I feel like I was a little crazy not to do a sea level 70.3 for my first one, but I guess I don't have to worry about shipping my bike somewhere!

I heard that the 70.3 course was flat and fast, and I knew the sprint distance was flat and fast- but I made the mistake of thinking that the Boulder Peak tri would be flat too (Now I know why it's called the Boulder "Peak"!)  I train on hills all the time, but it was definitely a different experience to race on them!

Thanks for the advice on the sunscreen-  do you know if it is the same loop as the Boulder Peak tri but just twice around?  :)

Julie

Maria Netherland's picture

Hey there. The 70.3 run course is different than the Peak. It heads out of the Boulder Rez and turns right past the guard shack. It's 2 loops and it's a whole lot of dirt and gravel.

Belynda Seligman's picture

Jen,

Great job today at Pelican Fest! Every time I saw you in the event, you were smiling. I was so happy to get through the swim. My hands were shaking afterward and it made getting out of the wetsuit a challenge. You are doing amazing in the swim. Keep it up.

Belynda

Jennifer Rossi's picture

Thanks Belynda! You did amazing too and you are definitely on your way to completing Ironman Arizona! Keep me up to date on your accomplishments...it's very motivating to see and hear what all you will be doing this summer. Good luck and I hope to see you at another race.

Jennifer Rossi's picture

Hi all,

I'm new to GoTribal but just wanted to say Hi. I have always been a runner and have done many duathlons over the past few years and now I'm trying my hand at triathlons! I've done two sprint tri's and I fell in love! This year I'm signed up for the Pelican Fest Tri, Boulder Sprint, and Boulder Peak! Tri's are a challenge for me since I just learned to swim last summer. I just bought a wet suit last week so I'm super excited for more learning this year. I'm slow but motivated. If anyone wants to train in the Boulder/Nederland area give me a shout.

Thanks,

Jen ☺

Wendy Mader's picture

Welcome Jen. Looking foward to meeting you at the Pelican Fest Triathlon!

Wendy

Jennifer Rossi's picture

Thanks Wendy! I'll also be at the practice open water swim the weekend before...trying out my new wetsuit for the first time!

Belynda Seligman's picture

I think I rode/ran with you today in Windsor. You did great in the water for swimming such a short time! See you next weekend.

Belynda

Jennifer Rossi's picture

Good to see you on here! If you're ever down in the Boulder area and want to swim/run/ride just let me know. I hope to see you this weekend and hopefully the water will warm up a bit.

Cindy Dallow's picture

Hey gals,
Is anyone doing any of the Boulder Marathon events on March 27th? They have a full and half-marathon, a 10-miler, and a 10k. I signed up for the 10-miler because I'm doing a half in mid-April. I'd love to meet some of you.
Also, any of you doing the Community Classic Bike Tour in Loveland on May 17th (not sure if its the 17th - its a Sunday)?  I'm doing the metric-century - I've done it 5 times and it's a wonderful bike ride. It starts at McKee Medical Center in Loveland and goes up to Carter Lake (gorgeous views but steep climb with switchbacks), down the north side, up through Masonville and the backside of Horsetooth Reservoir, then back to McKee. The weather is usually fantastic and they have lots of great food afterwards too! Last year, the shirt was really nice  - its one of my favorite tee's now. Let me know if you are doing it - would love to ride with some GOTRIbal chic's!

Joy Geltmacher's picture

I am also doing the 10 miler on Sunday. I have a couple of friends doing the half, but I love the 10 mile distance so I signed up for that one. I hope to see you there!

Cindy Dallow's picture

Howdy!
I'm new to GOTRIbal but love it - would enjoy meeting you all sometime. I live in Greeley but could meet for a ride or run in FC or Boulder or anywhere in northern CO. Believe it or not, there are some awesome routes from west Greeley to Loveland/FC and/or Johnstown and back (you get a great view of the front range that way!).
Anyway, just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I'm also the nutrition expert for GOTRIbal now so feel free to ask me any nutrition questions too.
Rock on!
Cindy

Maria Netherland's picture

Hi Cindy! Welcome to GOTRIbal and thanks for being one of our nutrition experts!

I'm looking to ride in the Greeley/Loveland area this summer (I live in Littleton). Not sure if I will get up that way to ride before then (brrrr....cold!). However, if I'm up that way, I'll zap you a note. Maybe we can meet for a run or a cup of coffee.

Maria

Cindy Dallow's picture

Hey Maria,
A run or cup of coffee would be great - call or text me if you're up this way 970-518-7469. Ditto for anyone else here.
Yeah, I'm not riding outside this winter but this spring and summer I will be and would love to get some group rides going. Maybe we could alternate locations between Denver, Boulder, Greeley, Loveland, FC, etc. I have a lot of great routes from here but I'm always open to new ones!
I'm going to do a half-marathon trail run in April so I'd also be up for some long runs, either on or off-road. I usually run long on Saturday mornings but could do an occasional Sunday. I'm coming off some injuries so I'm pretty slow right now!
Anyway, nice to connect with you - have a great week!

Hi ladies! A message below from Tanya asking us to help with taking a survey. Here's the link: http://survey.io/survey/7521e I am trying to build a strong case to some of the investors who are listening and interested in GOTRIbal – But wouldn’t you know my luck? Most of these angel investors are men. Yeah, they like the idea of a bunch of hot, strong, and smart chicks all in one place for sure. But I would like to build an even stronger business case for why it’s important GOTRIbal exist on the planet today. So far, it’s been going quite well! Lots of smiles, nods and “I’m interested, let’s talk later”. But I believe this may be the absolute strongest supporter: The answers to the four question survey -- http://survey.io/survey/7521e Would you share that link with your tribe members? either on your Tribe page, or directly with the women you’ve met in your TRIbe? Or how about women you know who are endurance sports athletes and just want to give their opinion?! J It’ll take less than 10 minutes. Promise. You could probably do it while you’re on your trainer with your blackberry or iPhone in hand. (We are multi taskers-extraordinaires after all) Thank you in advance for thinking of supporting me to support GOTRIbal’s continued service to the ladies.

Looking for a personal trainer/coach in the Westminster/Broomfield area. Any referrals would be greatly appreciated. croy922@msn.com. Thanks!
