So my first real sprint distance of the season is coming up. It is a travel location and the logistics of the actual race are "interesting". So I am not ure how all of this will go but as soon as this is done on to the next. Lambeau Field for the Lambeau/Green Bay Packers 5k (just for fun), Oshkosh Triathlon, GO DIRTYGIRL Mud run and then fall events TBD. I am super pumped after or yucky weather to get to it!

Back at it only this time I am bringing the gear! New Trek Pilot 2.0 and a tri suit. I have been working hard at spin class and the instructor is teaching me a lot of raod bike basics. My new Trek is my first road bike and I super pumped that spring is here. In WI it will be a little bit yet but I am starting to get ready...wahoo! I am signed up for the Trek/Danskin Tri in Pleasent Prarie and the Oshkosh Tri so far. New Glarus was a huge challenge last year and I am still deciding...other races may also sneak in there. My goal is to start think Olympic distance in the two years...we will see!

When I did my first tri this last summer I thought I was going to die. My chain came off, I did not have a tri suit and wore my shorts in the pool, we swam four to lane in the pool, we had a huge incline right out of the first transition. It was REDICULOUS! LOL! New Glarus AlpHorn man traithlon is not a beginners tri but I had a great place to stay and the support of family. Not to mention a really cute 2.5 yr old yelling at me to go. I hated almost every minute of it but I MADE IT. I crossed the finish line. Dead last. I mean really DEAD LAST. I hurt, I walked on the run and somehow this did not dimish my spirit. This made me want to conquer it again. 7 days later there I was at the Oshkosh Tri and there were 1000 people at this one. New glarus was only 183. Well 183 that finished. I registered for Oshkosh last minute and in a rain storm hit the open water. I had wet socks, wet bike, wet everything. But as I was getting on my bike the sun started to peek out and then rain went away. It was like a sign that I could really do this this time. I may actually not finish last. As the race progressed it was awesome. I swam, biked, and actually ran and did not finish last! Some people did not even show up because of the weather. I can not put into words the sense of relief. The sense of accomplishment. The next one will be even better!
