How do you know which Adamo to choose from?  Right now I am starting with a Sprint TRI and am a little heavier.   So no long rides for me yet.  I picked up a flyer to shoot for completing the Santa Fe Century next year.  There appears to be many to choose from.  If anyone can give me an idea where to start? I too am a Adamo rider after what would seem an eternity of  "test" driving different products.  Like was previously mentioned  the seat does take some of a break in period and sitting the right way is helpful but after a bit the seat wears on you...around you or however the politically correct version might read.  I like to joke with friends and clients that my "lady garden" is tended too with the Adamo seat.  ( is that TMI...if so sorry ;-) )

I too found it a bit wide so I used a heavy duty zip tie to bring the two front pieces together.  Worked like a charm!

I have the Adamo race saddle and like it a lot but I did have some problems in the beginning, with the front of it being too wide. My husband jerry-rigged it to make it a bit narrower and that made a big difference. I have heard that the road version is a bit softer so if anyone wants a little more cushion, they could try that one.

Could there possibly be a better saddle out there...I just don't think so! Not for me anyway. Here's my story about how I came to fall in love...with my adamo saddle that is :)

I was riding my bike happily for several months. I always squirmed a bit on my saddle, but not too badly. I got a new saddle which was women specific and I thought it was better, but really, this feeling lasted for maybe a couple of days. I hadn't ridden my bike for a few weeks and decided to take a spin up the coast here in San Diego. I went about 30 miles. When I got off the bike, I was almost in tears, it hurt to take baby steps...oh so painful!!! I vowed not to get back on my bike until I had a new saddle, I had been traumatized.

I looked around and when I saw the Adamo, I knew that this was what I was looking for. The soft tissue is where all the pressure was while riding my previous saddles. The adamo, while funny shaped, allows you to sit on the bones rather than the tissue.

I have to say, sitting on the bones is "different" and "odd" at first. But literally, the first time I got on the saddle and rode, I went about 25 miles and was overjoyed. For the first time I finally had tons of fun on the bike because I wasn't thinking about the pain from riding.

The adamo can take a while to get used to. For me, it is the difference in being able to ride or not. It's the only saddle I will sit on for both my tri and road bikes. Ok, I put one on the tandem too! When you lean forward and are in the drops or in aero there's no pressure on the soft tissue. It's simply amazing! And if you are in search of a new saddle I highly recommend trying the adamo if you are having any kind of pain or pressure in the soft tissue areas.

If you find the adamo saddle is too wide in the front, try zip-tying the two rails together. It will bring the noses together a little more and may solve that issue.

Most bike shops will let you try out the saddle and if you don't like it, bring it back, no questions asked, full refund. So check it out. Take one home put it on your bike and go for a spin, what could it hurt? Better yet, figure out that riding is suppose to be fun, not painful. Be aware that you might need to lower your seat height since the adamo is a bit taller and also bring the saddle forward because you will sit on the nose of this saddle primarily. I highly recommend taking measurements from the top of your pedal to the top of your current saddle and align the adamo that way. The same for the nose.

Sorry this was long and winded, I just can't tell you what a wonderful, remarkable difference this saddle has made for me...thousands of miles down the road, I'm still in love! I hope you fall in love too (even if it's with a different saddle) :)
