I hope everything is going well and you are still on track with your fitness program and following the healthy tips/guidelines I mentioned last in my article.
Now let's talk about FAT – and I don't mean the saturated and unsaturated types. Are you measuring up? Are you in a healthy body composition range? Do you know your lean muscle mass to fat ratio?

Heart Rate
Submitted by coachmeg on Wed, 01/18/2012 - 2:15pmHeart Rate Training.... is it necessary??? I would dare say no. Now, before the community stops breathing because I have broken a cardinal rule of training, I want you to understand and know a couple things.
1. I am old school. I graduated high school in 1985... long before heart rate monitors were common place in training. I was a sprinter (400m) who became a distance runner, and later a triathlete in grad school. I ran cross-country in high school for something to do.
Winterize Your Nutrition Plan in 3 Simple Ways
Submitted by cdallow on Sun, 01/15/2012 - 3:44pm1. Focus on high quality carbs - we spend more time indoors this time of year, which often leads to more snacking, and most processed snack foods are made from refined flour which has very little fiber and nutritional value. These snacks rarely satisfy hunger so we end up eating more, ratcheting up our total caloric intake and adding another inch to our waistline.
Being Coached.
Submitted by coachmeg on Fri, 01/13/2012 - 1:14pmOne of my athletes (we will call her T) is running the Houston Half-Marathon on Sunday. She shared on twitter the other day, that she has never felt so prepared for any race in her running career. I just had to smile ear to ear...... not just because I am her coach, but because I am her coach.
