Mama Sweat: How to Find Fitness in the Chaos of Motherhood Using a Bike Trainer
Submitted by Kara ThomTrain for a triathlon with four kids? Here's how I find fitness in the chaos of motherhood using a bike trainer. I've posted before about being a Multitasking Mama with the help of a trainer, which includes a shot of what a 3-year-old looks like when she flips over her handle bars, speeding down a hill. Do they make trainers for kids?
Just for fun and to say thanks for reading me here at Go Tribal, I'll give away a set of the latest Spinnerval DVDs to the first person who can tell what kind of bike I'm using in the video. This contest excludes anyone whose been on a ride with me! (Although you might, actually, deserve a prize if you've ever been on a ride with me).
Also, I'd love to hear from moms who use a Burley. Now that my girls are all riding free of training wheels, do I want an option to bring my 16-month-old along for a ride? Let me know!

Sweeeeetttt!!! Thank you! I'll send you the info.
Oh it's so exciting to win something. :-)
Sara and Melissa, since you two are the only gals to leave a comment you BOTH win! It's all about showing up, right? My bike in that video, for the record is a (very old) Quintanaroo. And, impossible to tell on video, so I liked Sara's answer:-) If you two will send me a note with your mailing addresses, I'll get you your new Spinerval DVD!

I have no idea what kind of bike you have but I love your ideas. I am a mom too and definitely put my trainer to use - but I have never even thought of taking the trainer outside or into the garage. That sounds so much better than waiting until my son is in bed and using it in the dark basement. Thanks for the ideas and keep 'em coming!
Melissa
Hey there! I watched it twice small screen & once big screen and I'm not sure what brand of bike you have, so I'll say a nice one!
I have 3 boys (8/6/2) and love my cycleops trainer. We also have a burley double & a tag-a-long single wheel and use both quite a bit. In the summer I also set up in the garage or on the deck. I also have a bike with powercranks on it and I'll put that on the trainer and rotate intervals on the cranks & running up and down the street etc. Whatever makes it fit in best that day!
