LA Times and triathlon

It's a funny thing to be in the middle of something incredible. Sometimes you forget you're there.

You get lost in the proverbial weeds. Or thorns.

Or aid stations when all you want to do is hug a volunteer who has a bucket of cold beverages, Gu's and ...  nowhere to go but watch you keep going....

We're in the middle of something incredible.  And by "we", I mean GOTRIbal's worldwide community of women athletes.

How do I know?

Reminders come in stories, emails and pictures from women around the planet who tell me about the impact GOTRIbal's had on their lives.  The funny comments from our Facebook page that demonstrate we've created a place of fun, safety and enjoyment in our conversations. Or when I meet someone I've never known, in an airport I've never been, and only after a 5 minute conversation does my new girlfriend realize it's Tanya she's speaking to, and I get to smile after hearing how happy she is with what we offer her.

But sometimes, us crazed-entrepreneurs need 'social proof' - that little bit of validity from the world of people who don't know what it takes to build a company from scratch, but who build public opinion, stretch it and mold it. The media, of course.

When the media pays attention to something, or someone, you know you are dangerously close to something super cool.

The LA Times came calling today.  They are doing a story on small businesses -- for women in triathlon.  And that's great. For triathlon. And for women in triathlon.

And, what's extra cool?  GOTRIbal was approached to speak to the growth of women in triathlon and..... specifically, the GOTRIbal Conference [that was held in October 2010, in San Diego].

This is fun.  It's also a gift.  And as much as some don't believe in regifting, I do.

So i'm passing this gift on.

Enjoy.

And re-gift.
