Getting your nutrition right for your endurance sports lifestyle

Let’s get real. Eating good all the time is not easy. And our Squad, women who are elite athletes, busy moms and amateur age groupers, all  leading active endurance sports lifestyles, have their breaking points. Just like them, we find our way to the frozen food section and, unashamed, buy a pint of our favorite goodie, diving in before we ever get to the car.

What you see below is a story from the lives of these women. We asked them to catalog their eating for one week and we took some of the most interesting (and easy) plans to share with you. Because we’re all about it being nutritious fuel that doesn’t require we’ve gone to the Conscious Culinary Retreat in California to prepare, we’ve grabbed the ones that you could make it less than 15 minutes. In all of these, the ladies were drinking water during their meal or incessantly during the day.

Go on -- Enjoy the journey!

BREAKFAST

1 tbsp almond butter , 1 tbsp agave nectar, 1 cup non fat yogurt (original), sprinkle the heck out of the bowl with some cinnamon! mmm yuuuum. Then microwave the almond butter and agave nectar for 30 seconds then mix in the yogurt. I add the cinnamon last. Sometimes I put granola on top, too. Throw in a fruit for good measure.

Big bowl with: blueberries, nonfat lemon yogurt, cantaloupe chunks, chia/flax seeds, wee bit o’ rice-cereal, vanilla extract, almonds. Mix and smile. One glass of water.

Mixed Fruit & Raw Granola. Starbucks Instant Iced Coffee/Kombucha tea.

Oatmeal, blueberries, wheat germ, cinnamon & almond milk.

Protein smoothie with light soy milk, frozen berries, LSA [linseed, sunflower and almond grinds] mix and protein powder. Black Coffee.

LUNCH

Mixed green salad w/chicken satay and coconut salad dressing.

Subway Turkey and veggies w mustard on Omega 3 Bread and Iced Tea

Hamburger w/tomatoes, lettuce and whole avocado (no mayo), 10 strawberries
